                       Saturday April 26, 2008 was a perfect day for drag racing, with over 150 cars showing for the days event. Weather conditions that seemed questionable at the start of the day, turned into outstanding conditions for excellent racing.

            In Super Pro Richard Hammond faced Jerry Dunkle in the first pair of Super Pro Quarter Finals. Hammond dialed a 5.18 to the 4.86 of Dunkle. Dunkle launched with a .508 light, but broke out by .0001 to give Hammond the win. Dave Cox pulled up to face Leon Bryan. Cox would dial 5.69 to the 6.49 of Bryan. Cox would take the better light with a .509, and back it up with a 5.703. Rick Wilkins would face the Dragster of Mike Stugill. Wilkins dialed a 5.49 to the 4.82 of Sturgill. Wilkins got the better light, with a .512 light, but Sturgill ran a 4.823 for the win. Don Sherril got the bye.

            In the semis it would be Hammond vs Sturgill. Hammond dial a 5.19 to the 4.81 of Sturgill. At the Tree it would be Hammond with the .508 light, and that was the advantage he needed to take the win with a 5.206 run. Cox would face Sherril in the next pair. Cox dialed a 5.69 to the 5.97 of Sherrill. Sherrill would get the jump on the tree with a .522 light but ran under by .0033 to give the win to Cox.

            Cox would face Hammond in the finals, Hammond dialed a 5.19 to the 5.69 of Cox. Hammond jumped at the tree with a .507 to get the advantage, along with a 5.234 win for the Super Pro Victory!

            In Pro it was Boomer Ellison vs. Rich Wilson. Ellison would dial an 11.25 to the 10.12 of Wilson. Ellison would red light, moving Wilson to the next round. Doug Caplinger faced Nick Davis in the next pair. Caplinger would take the win with a 12.207 run. Rob Crider advanced with the Bye.

            Rob Crider faced Rich Wilson in the Semis. Crider dialed a 10.04 to the 10.09 of Crider. Wilson cut a .504 for the advantage, along with a 10.191 run for the win. Caplinger had the bye into the next round.

            In the finals it would be Doug Caplinger vs. Rich Wilson. Wilson once again was better at the tree, with a .504 light to help a 10.074 for the double breakout win for the IDDU Clan.

            In sportsman quarters Wayne Richardson had the bye run. Up next was Brian Emory facing mike McGriff. Emory dialed a 16.00 to the 12.00 of McGriff. McGriff had the better light with a .538 along with a 11.989 run for the win. Terry Knight faced Doug Caplinger in the last pair of the round. Knight dialed a 16.80 to the 12.24 of Caplinger. The better light went to Knight with a .565. Caplinger was able to make the pass with a 12.205 to get the double breakout win.

            Wayne Richardson faced Mike McGriff in the Semis round. Richardson dialed a 17.27 to the 12.00. Richardson got the jump, however it would be McGriff that would take the double breakout win with an 11.964 run. Caplinger would get the bye run into the finals.

            In the finals it would be Caplinger dialing a 12.16 to the 12.00 of McGriff. Caplinger would go red, and McGriff would score another win for the IDDU clan (inside joke!)

            In Pro Bike it would be Rick Haupt to face Kevin Hoskins. Haupt would dial an 8.71 to the 9.36 of Hoskins. Mechanical problems post launch for Haupt looked to end his night, but Hoskins broke out, and under NHRA first or worst policy, Haupt would be declared the winner.  Up next would be Michael Nugent to face Thad Neeld. Nugent dialed a 10.42 to the 9.50 of Neeld. Nugent would jump off the line with a .515 light for the advantage, along with a 10.424 run for the win. Homer England got the Bye run into the semis.

            In the semis England would face Haupt to see who would run bye runner Nugent. England dialed a 9.90 to the 8.81 of Haupt. Haupt would pull away red, moving England to face Nugent in the finals.

            In the finals for pro bike, Nugent would dial a 10.35 to the 9.85 of England.  Nugent ice again with the starting line advantage, cutting a .523 bulb, ran out to beat a breaking out Homer England with a 10.360 run.

            In High School Class Jesse Parsons won with a 16.355 on a 15.87 dial.

            In Junior Dragsters 8-9 Wyatt Kessler faced Hunter Hughes. Kessler dialed a 1485 to the 14.15 of Hughes. Kessler had the better light but Huges would take the win with a 14.155 run. Mikah Miller would be up next to face Caleb Ellison. Miller would dial a 13.08 o the 13.08 of Ellison for a heads up drag race. Ellison would be better at the tree with a .557, but ran under giving the win to Miller. Up next was Kyle Beavers against Cheyenne Masters. Beavers dialed a 13.35 to the 14.73 of Masters. Beavers chopped the tree down with a .542 and backed it up with a 13.738 for the win. Michael Roberts had the bye.

            In the semis it was Michael Roberts vs. Hunter Hughes. Hughes dialed a 14.12 to the 13.29 of Roberts. Roberts got a big jump at the tree, but would give it back with a double breakout loss by .002 secs. Up next would be Mikah Miller to face Kyle Beavers. Miller dialed a 13.10 to the 13.40 of Beavers. Beavers had the bteer light with a .608 but Miller had the better car running a 13.145 for the win.

            In the finals it would be Mikah Miller facing Hunter Hughes. Miller would dial a 13.12 to the 14.05 of Hughes. Miller got the jump at the tree with a .651. and would run dead on with an 8 (13.328) for the win.

            In the 10-12 group it was James Smith against Savannah Stultz. Smith dialed a 9.06 to the 12.70 of Stultz. Smith got the jump with a .600 light, and a 9.156 run for the win light. Next up would be Michelle Morris against Kay Crum. 9.31 was on the dial for Morris, and 8.94 for Crum. Crum would pull away red, moving Morris to the semis. Shayla Babb got the Bye run for the round.

            In the semis it would Morris faced Babb in the first pair. Morris dialed a 9.25 to the 9.37 of Babb. Shayla would pull away red, moving Morris to the next round. James Smith had the bye run to the next round.

            Michelle Morris faced against James Smith in the Finals. Morris dialed a 9.36 to the 9.03 of Smith. Smith would get the better light, a .568 and hold on for the win with a 9.092 run.

            In the 13 & Up group it would be Michael Collier, faced Julie Duty. Collier dialed a 7.90 to the 7.90 of Duty for a heads up race. Reactions were within  .005 difference, both drivers charged hard, and it would be Michael Collier with the double breakout win going 7.891. Up next was Tyler Vance against Mike Morris. Vance dialed a 7.92 to the 8.17 of  Morris. Morris would have the better light with a .507, and ran an 8.273 for the win. In the last pair for the round, it would be Walt Crum against Ben Browder.  Crum’s dial would be a 7.90 to the 7.94 of Browder. Crum would get the better light with a .530 along with a 7.901 run for the win.

            In the semis Mike Morris faced Michael Collier. Morris would pull away red to move Collier to the next round to face Crum who had the bye run.

            In the finals Crum would face Collier. Both dialed a 7.90 for a heads up race, Crum cut a .509 light and got the double breakout win with a 7.897 run.
