Saturday Drag racing action kicked off with first round being briefly paused due to precipitation. After a great job by the crew working the track to get it race ready again, Super Pro was able to resume after a 90 minute delay. In the Super Pro Quarters it would be Scott Brewer of New Carlisle against Randy Smith of Washington Courthouse. Smith would go red moving Brewer to the next round! Next pair up was Steve Taylor of Riverside against Sammy Baugh of Springfiled. Taylor dialed in at 4.82 to the 4.90 of Baugh. Baugh was deadly at the tree with a .509 light, and ran a 4.924 aginst a breaking out Taylor for the win. Last pair for the quarters was Evan Kirk of Fairborn against Melissa Vance of New Carlisle. Kirk dialed a 4.85 to the 4.95 of Vance. Vance would get the better light with a .514 and ran a 4.951 run to move to the next round! In the semis Scott Brewer had the bye run. It would then be Baugh Vs. Vance. Baugh dialed a 4.89 to the 4.94 of Vance. Vance would be better off the tree with a .512 light ran a 4.974 run at the line for the move to the finals. In the finals it would be Brewer dialing a 7.03 to the 4.94 of Vance. Vance once again up on the tree with a .506 this time. The light would be enough to take the win from Brewer who went dead on with a 2 against Vance’s 4.979 In the Pro Quarters we would see Brian McVaughlin of Eaton against 101’s Gwayne Honeycutt from Urbana. Brian would dial a 10.97 to the 10.23 of Gwayne. At the tree Brian would have the better light with a .537, but both racers would breakout and Gwayne would move on to the semis with a 10.229 run. Next up would be Jim Yates of New Carlisle against Mark Griffith of New Carlisle. Griffith would go red, and that moved Yates to the next round. Last pair was Nick Davis of Moraine against Mike Gill of Washington Courthouse. Davis would dial a 10.73 to the 10.19 of Gill. Davis would get a .552 light along with a 10.763 run for the win light. In the semis it would be Gwayne with the Bye, Davis and Yates would race to see who would face him in the finals. Reaction time differences was .0058 in favor of Davis, both racers knew it would be close and ran hard. Davis would receive the double breakout win going .0002 under. In the Pro finals it would be Davis and Honeycutt. Davis dialed a 10.74 to the 10.22 of Honeycutt. Gwayne received a .532 for the better light ( I hear he hates it when I mention reaction times!) The reaction time was what it took for the win, along with a 10.402 run! In the Sportsman bracket it would be Matt Spradlin of Springfield against Joe Hoskins of Fairborn in the Dual Wheel Chevy Truck. Spradlin dialed a 17.65 to the 18.13 of Hoskins. Hoskins’ light would better with a .557, ran a 18.154 for the win light over Spradlin. Walt Shade of Fairborn and Ricky Shepherd of Dayton. Shade would dial a 12.94 to the 12.00 of Shepherd. Sheperd would have the better light with a .534 and would move on to the semis with his 12.028 run. David Rickey of New Carlisle had the Bye. In the semis it would be David Rickey and Joe Hoskins. Rickey dialed a 13.20 to the 18.13 of Hoskins. Rikey would get the better light with a .581, but Hoskins was able to make his pass running 18.201 while Rickey broke out. Shepherd had the bye run to the finals. In the finals Shpherd would dial a 12.00 to the 18.15 of Hoskins. Shepherd would get a .531 light and run 12.005 for the win light. In Pro Bike it would be Bruce Sauer of Reynolsburg against Homer England of West Chester. Sauer dialed a 9.25 to the 9.93 of England. England would be better at the tree, with a.518 light but it would be Sauer with the win light on a 9.286 run. Next was Glen Lakins of Trenton against Dave Beavers of Urbana. Lakins dialed an 8.53 to the 11.27 of Beavers. Beavers would have the better light, but Lakins did the deed better with an 8.670for the win light. Last pair for the night was Bob Nugent of Trotwood and Joe Deck of Morningview, Ky. Bob would dial a 9.53 to the 8.83 of Joe. Nugent would get a perfect light .5000 Deck would get a .503 both very hard to beat! The finish line would see the win light go to Joe Deck with an 8.836 run. Glen Lakins vs. Joe Deck went for the first run of the semis. Deck would have mechanical difficulties and moved Lakins to the finals to face Sauer who had the bye run. Lakins and Sauer would pair up, but it would be Lakins with a red light to move to the next round. In Jrs 13 & Up it was Ben Browder of Fairborn against Billy Sellman of Hillsboro. Sellman would go red and moved Browder to the next round. Julie Duty of Vandalia faced Megan Hughes of Jamestown. Duty would dial a 7.91 to the 8.15 of Hughes. Hughes would be better at the light, but Duty would have a better un with a 7.929 run for the win light. Next up was Mike Morris of Dayton and Emily Kathe of Xenia. Morris dialed a 7.98 to the 7.90 of Kathe. Kathe had a .512 for the btter light, along with a 7.918 run to beat a breaking out Morris. Last pair for the round was Ashton Bone of Farmersville against Taylor Manning of West Carrolton. Manning would go red moving Bone to the next round. In the semis it was Bone and Kathe. Bone dialed an 8.85 to the 7.90 of Kathe. Kathe would have the better reaction time, .516 along with a 7.986 run to beat a breakingout Bone. Next was Duty and Browder. Duty would dial a 7.90 to the 7.96 of Browder. Browder would get the better light with a .552 and backed it up with a 7.994 for the win. In the finals it would be Browder and Kathe. Both would dial a 7.95 for a heads up race.Kathe had the better light with a .536 and would take the double breakout win with a 7.924 run. In the 10-12 class it would be Shayla babb of Xenia against Shawn Allex of Xenia. Babb would dial a 9.10 to the 8.90 of Allex. Allex would get the better light, and ran a9.034 for the win light. Next up would be Edmond Ellison of Beavercreek against Kay Crum of Jamestown. Ellison dialed a 8.96 to the 8.96 of Crum for a heads up rae. Kay had the better reaction time along with a 9.044 run for the win. Next would be Michelle Morris of Dayton against Savanna Stultz of New Lebanon. Morris would go red and that would move Stultz to the next round. James smith had the bye run. In the semis it would be Smith and Stultz. Smith dialed a 9.08 to the 10.25 of Stultz. Shawn Allex would face Kay Crum for the last pair of the round. Allex would dial an 8.90 to the 8.98 of Crum. At the tree it would be Crum with the better light, along with a 9.053 run for the win light. In the finals it would be Smith and Crum. Smith would dial a 9.10 to the 9.04 of Crum. At the tree Smith would be better with a .546, but the double breakout win would goto Crum with a 9.012 run. In the 8-9 class it would be Hunter Hughes of Jamestown against Samuel Allex of Xenia. Hughes dialed a 13.35 to the 13.00 of Allex. Hughes would get the better light and be closer to the numbers with a 13.363 run for the win. Next would be Caleb Ellison of Beavercreek against Cheyenne Masters of Urbana. Ellison would dail a 12.90 to the 13.12 of Masters. Ellison got the better light and backed it up with a 13.014 run for the win light. Michael Roberts had the bye run into the fianls. Hunter Hughes had the bye into the Fianls. It would be up to Caleb Ellison and Michael Roberts to race into the finals. Ellison dialed a 12.90 to the 13.15 of Roberts. At the Tree it would be Roberts with the better light, a .532, put that with a 13.132 run for the double breakout win. In the finals it would be Hughes against Roberts. Hughes dialeda 13.16 to the 13.12 of Roberts. Roberts had the better light but would breakout and give the win to Hughes. Dylan Bair was the winner in the High School Class, with a 17.374 run on a 17.36 dail, his reaction time was a .561.
