Saturday Drag racing kicked off with roughly 200 cars answering the call for first round of competition. In super pro quarterfinals it would be Ken Sullivan of West Carrolton, facing Dave Cox of Washington Court House. Sullivan’s dial was a 5.09to the 5.71 of Cox. Sullivan would grab the racing surface better getting a .509 from the tree, along with a 5.647 run for the win light. Next up was Boomer Ellison of Beavercreek, facing Phil Spradlin of Springfield. Ellison dialed a 5.11 to the 5.19 of Spradlin. Boomer would be better at the tree with a.517, but ran too fast breaking out and moving Spradlin to the next round. Dave Caplinger of Xenia got the bye run. In the semifinals it would be Sullivan with the bye run into the finals. Caplinger and Spradlin would race to see who would meet Sullivan in the finals. Caplinger would dial a 6.56 to the 6.20 of Spradlin. Caplinger would have the better light, with a .508, however Spradlin would make him race hard, leading to a double breakout win for Spradlin with a 6.193 run for the win light. In the finals it would be Sullivan and Spradlin. Sullivan dialed a 5.08 to the 6.18 of Spradlin. Sullivan went after the tree with a .513 light, and ran a 5.109 for the win in Super Pro. In the Pro quarterfinals it would be Todd Tooker of Miamisburg against Tom Scarpelli of Xenia. Todd would dial a 9.86 to the 9.83 of Tom. Tooker would get the better light with a .526 along with a 9.882 run for the win light. Next was Ray Salyers of Xenia, against Gwayne Honeycutt of Urbana. Salyers dialed a 10.59 to the 10.32 of Honeycutt. Salyers was better at the tree to the tune of a .533 but slightly off the numbers at the big end, Honeycutt would get the win light with a 10.355. Last pair for the round was Bryan Fox of Springfield against Matt Antrobius of Bellbrook. Fox dialed a 9.60 to the 11.55 of Antrobius. Matt had a .526 for the better reaction time, along with an11.570 for the win. In the semis it would be Tooker vs. Antrobius. Tooker dialed a 9.86 to the 11.55 of Antrobius. Antrobius had the better light with a .534, but it would be Tooker moving on after a double breakout win with a 9.857 run. Honeycutt had the bye in the finals. In the finals Tooker would dial a 9.85 to the 10.29 of Honeycutt. Reaction times were only .0039 apart, but they would both go after the win hard, and it would be Honeycutt with the win light after a 10.228 double breakout win for the IDDU Clan. In the sportsman bracket quarter finals it would be Carl Thomas of Kettering against Shawn Stacy of Beavercreek. Thomas had 13.59 on the dial, 13.90 for Stacy. Carl would have the better light with a .592 but it would be Stacy getting the win with the breakout bulb on for Thomas. Stacy’s run was a 13.958. Next was Doug Caplinger of Xenia against Dylan Bair of Urbana. Caplinger would go red moving Bair to the next round. Next pair was Howard Ledford of Kettering against Walt Shade of Fairborn. Ledford dialed a 12.31 to the 13.33 of Shade. Ledford would have the better light but shade the better run. It would be Shade with a 13.089 for the win light. Ryan Jenks had the bye into the semis. In the semis it would be Bair vs. Jenks. Bair dialed a 12.29 to the 16.95 of Jenks. Bair with the better light a .528, along with a 12.315 run to put Jenks out for the night. Shawn Stacy would face Walt Shade, but would leave early earning a red light, moving Shade to the finals. In the finals Shade dialed a 13.09 to the 12.29 of Bair. Shade got a .547 light for the advantage, and would finish the night off with a13.119 run for the win. In the Pro Bike Class quarterfinals it would be Joe Deck of Morningview, KY against Gary Frederick of Springfield. Frederick would have mechanical difficulties, moving Deck to the semis with a 9.094 run. Next pair was Homer England against Steve Withem. England dialed 10.00 to the 10.17 of Withem. England was better at the tree with a .515 run, along with a10.005 run against a breaking out Withem for the win. Thad Neeld got the bye run into the Semis. In the semis it would be Deck with the bye. England would face Neeld to see who would make it to the finals. England dialed a 9.96 to the 9.55 of Neeld. Neeld would get the better light and England would breakout making Neeld the winner with a 9.615 run to the finals. In the final round of Bikes it would be Neeld dialing a 9.57 to the 8.78 of Deck. Neeld would have the better light but would breakout giving the win to Deck with an 8.774 double breakout win. In High School bracket it would be Dylan Bair of Urbana against Colton Grahm of Orient. Bair dialed a 17.79 to the 12.45 of Grahm. Grahm had a .559 for the better light, along with a12.304 for the double breakout win over Bair. In Jr dragster 13 & up it would be Julie Duty of Vandalia against Tyler of New Carlisle. Duty would have the better light, but it would be Vance with the win on a 7.911 run. Next was Walt Crum of Beavercreek against Melanie Raise of Hillsboro. Rase would leave early for the red light, moving Crum to the Semis. Next was Megan Hughes of Jamestown against Ben Browder of Fairborn. Hughes dialed an 8.30 to the 8.14 of Browder. Hughes had a .506 leaving the starting line along with an 8.349 run for the win. In the last pair of the round it would be Billy Sellman of Hillsboro vs. Mike Morris of Dayton. Sellman dialed an 8.95 to the 8.09 of Morris. Morris got the better light with a .605, along with an 8.075 run into the semis. In the semis it would be Morris against Crum. Morris dialed 8.08 to the 8.18 of Crum. Morris cut a .559 light and ran 8.300 for the win light. Next up would be Vance and Hughes. Vance would go red and that moved Hughes to the finals. In the finals Hughes went red, and Morris got the win. In the 10-12 Jrs it was Shayla Babb of Xenia against Paige Vance of New Carlisle. Babb dialed 9.30 to the 9.68 of Vance. Vance had the better light with a .511 and ran a 9.712 for the win. Next up was Maddie Cox of Berea against Edmond Ellison of Beavercreek. Maddie got a .578 at the tree and backed it up with an 11.150 run for the win. Next was Jerry Rase of Hillsboro against Shawn Allex of Xenia. Rase dialed 10.74 to the 8.90 of Allex. Rase would breakout moving Allex to the next round. In the last pair of the round it was James Smith of Beavercreek going red moving Kay Crum of Jamestown to the Semis. In the Semis it would be Allex vs, Cox. Allex dialed 8.90 to the 11.15 of Cox. Reaction time difference was.011 secs. Allex would get the win with an 8.949 run. In the last pair it would be Kay Crum going red against Paige Vance. In the finals it would be Allex facing Vance. Allex dialed 8.91 to the 9.68 of Vance. Allex had the better light with a .585 along with a 9.047 run for the win. In the 8-9 class of Jrs it would be Alexis hunter of Leesburg against Michael Roberts of Huber Heights. Hunter got a red light moving Roberts to the Semis. Next was Sammuel Allex of Xenia against Marissa Babb of Xenia. Allex would dial 13.32 to the 13.90 of Babb. Babb had the better light with a.562 and ran a13.999 for the win. Next was Hunter Hughes of Jamestown against Caleb Ellison of Beavercreek. Ellison went red, and Hughes moved on. In the last pair for the round it would Kyle Beavers against Cheyenne Masters. Masters went red and Beavers moved on. In the semis it would be Hughes and Babb. Babb cut the better light a .616 but broke out and gave the win to Hughes on the double Breakout, (13.532) next was Beavers and Roberts. Beavers dialed a13.92 to the 13.65 of Roberts. Beavers would cut down the tree with a .504 light but threw it away breaking out moving Roberts to the finals. In the Finals Roberts went red and gave Hughes the win for the class.
